During this last period I find particularly pleasant and also entertaining painting natural landscapes, and fortunately in the outskirts of Florence, also very near the city centre, there are many views on the surrounding hills that may easily represent interesting subjects.
I made this small watercolour sitting on a bench facing the hill of Scandicci Alto, beyond the river Greve, in a warm morning, full of light. Around me, plenty of silence and just a few people passing by: some old ladies walking, some grandparents going with their little grandchildren to the small playing area with the see-saws nearby.
It will be beautiful to remind these moments of slowness and peace when, in a couple of weeks, this break from all my usual activities is expected to end and the pace of my days will completely change.

  1. You got the greeny depths of the river very well, it sounds a lovely place to sit and paint.

Brava!

  8. Greens are really tough, and you did a wonderful job with it, showing quite a variety of color. And I can feel the distance beyond the tree in the front. And it relaxes me just to look at it.

I am happy that this little further step that I've made inside landscape painting hasn't showed itself so terrible as I feared! Thank you all!
