Ponte a Greve, mezzogiorno d'agosto - Ponte a Greve, August noon

Passando sul vecchio ponte a Greve con la mia auto in un sabato d'agosto, con le strade quasi deserte, la vista delle vecchie case lungo la via Pisana, con le imposte chiuse per non far passare il calore e un filo di panni stesi al sole sopra ai tetti e dietro al campanile della modesta chiesetta mi ha commossa in un istante, costringendomi a fermarmi e ad accostare.
Non voglio far pensare a nessuno di essermi messa a disegnare lì, in pieno sole, con il caldo che rasentava i 40° C, ma è certo che non ho resistito alla tentazione di fare una foto con il mio telefono, dalla quale poi ho ricavato questo piccolo schizzo, ritratto di un luogo per me assai familiare in un momento di insolita tranquillità, senza rumori né traffico, sotto la luce davvero splendida di un mezzogiorno d'agosto.

Driving on the old ponte a Greve on a Saturday in August, while the streets were almost deserted, the view of the old houses along via Pisana, with their shutters closed to keep the heat out and a wire of clothes hanging in the sun over the roofs and behind the belfry of the humble little church suddenly moved me, forcing me to stop and pull over.
I don't want to make anyone think that I started sketching there, under the full sun, with the heat approaching 40° C., but certainly I couldn't resist the temptation to take a picture with my cell phone, from which I made this little sketch, portrait of a place that is quite familiar to me in a moment of unusual peacefulness, without noise and traffic, under the wonderful light of an August noon.
